(3) BE CLEAN.

Keeping Clean
Before you leave for your hunting area the last thing you do is take a shower and brush your teeth. Always wash your hair because it's a magnet for odors. Use unscented soap and shampoo. (Ivory is good and Scent Shield has an excellent body wash that even continues to eliminate odors.) If you use a conditioner be sure it is unscented. (Ivory has one.) Dry with the towel you laundered with your clothes. Then I always spray my underarms with Scent Shield Underarm deodorant spray. Brush your teeth with the baking soda tooth paste and never drink or eat afterward. Only wear clothing that comes from your baking soda environment.

Be clean every time you hunt. In a primitive camp, you can wash from a pan or cup as long as you rinse thoroughly. Only use unscented soap. Bathtubs are NOT as good as showers. The grunge that floats to the top of the water betrays you. You'll have to rinse completely after a bath. Showers are best.

One day away from your after shave may not be enough. It can take a couple of days to completely get the everyday odors off you. During hunting season, I recommend you only use the soap, shampoo and tooth paste you use hunting. That way you can go back and forth from your regular life to your hunting mode and be scent free right away.

Step 4. Staying clean in the field.

| Step1: Avoid using smelly products that alert deer. |
Step 2: Strangle every last bit of odor out of everything you take with you. |
| Step 3: Be clean. |
| Step 4: Stay clean in the field.
