You Are Invited To Be A Field Reporter for Deerhunting.net.

The 2005 Deer Seasons are just around the corner. What if I told you, and some of you told me what was going on -- day to day -- this upcoming 2005 deer season?

Think about it, information is everything, we'd see the actual dates, in every state, when the bucks break up from their buck groups. We'd see the rut starting in Maine, in Nebraska, in Alabama ... everywhere. We'd see the does standing and the bucks hanging closely.

That sounds like a good idea to me. We can all learn from our shared data. And everyone who tunes in can benefit too.

It began in 1996 and it is happening again this Fall, and you are at the door way of where it's taking place. It's on deerhunting.net and it could be the biggest breakthrough in deer hunting information, ever.

Wanna pitch in? If you want to share your Field Notes I invite you to participate as a Field Reporter on Deerhunting.net. We already have a group of bowhunters from several states who bowhunt a lot during the Whitetail deer season. They report their Field Notes every day they hunt.

We can always use more, the more people that participate the better the information will be in your state and in the area you deer hunt.. We use a very simple form with clickable fields when something happens (examples below). And you can report any details or information you want to share about your morning or afternoon hunts, or when you scout. You can keep it brief or you can share your own "hunting story" about your deer hunts in 2003.

Clickable field Examples:

  • The wind was out of the ___.
  • The weather was___.
  • I saw ___ does and ___ bucks at my stand site ___.
  • I harvested a buck, 175 pounds, 8-points
  • I saw a rub.
  • I saw a scrape
  • I saw a buck visit a scrape
  • The bucks have broken up their buddy groups and I am seeing single bucks.
  • A buck chased a doe.
  • I saw two bucks sparing.
  • I saw two bucks fighting.
  • you can take a look at some 1996, '97, 98, 99, 2000, 2001 & 2002 reports at the deerhunting.net Field Reporting Project
We will all put our Field Notes in the data base for this deerhunting.net project. You enter your notes under your computer handle (or your real name.) Bowhunters all across the country will log on to read our posts and get a picture of what is happening.

If You Are Interested, email us at deerhunting.net@bowhunting.net and tell us what state(s) you hunt in, how long you have bowhunted, how many days you think you will hunt. You will receive an email with all your field reporting information ... and when your deer season starts, all you have to do is start reporting.
