PEAK
RUT, How To Predict It Where You Hunt, by Dennis Crabtree
"The
Whitetail breeding period lasts longer than most people realize. The closer
to the peak of the rut you get the bigger and the more bucks you will see
interacting with the doe's." Here is how to figure out what your peak rut
is.

Scouting
For Deer, 2002: An Online Photo Journey, by Robert Hoague
See it as it happens. The
bucks' antlers take shape as they grow from May to September. Follow the
deer in pictues and as I scout for them and update the web site with my
digital camera. July is a big month in the life of whitetials, the fawns
come out of hiding, button bucks become spikes, sixes, 8-points and big
racks. In September they loose their velvet. It's all right here, as it
happens.
